Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires Federal agencies to ensure that people with disabilities have equitable access to electronic and information technology. The Access Board developed accessibility standards generally referred as “Section 508 Standards” and are included in the Federal government’s procurement regulations. These standards are required for an agency’s procurement, development, maintenance, or use of electronic and information technology (E&IT) resources.
